Severe weather is right around the corner and NOW is the time to talk about preparedness.  Everything you need is on our updated website www.weather.gov/moreheadcity/severeprep. Don't forget with severe weather season ramping up, help us promote our upcoming SKYWARN, weather spotter classes, open to ALL: https://www.weather.gov/mhx/skywarn

On this site you will find plenty of graphics for each day.  PLEASE use these to share, they work great on social media.  We need YOUR HELP to make this awareness week a success!

***Due to the potential for severe weather across much of North Carolina Wednesday, the NC statewide tornado drill that was scheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 AM has been postponed.***

The North Carolina Statewide tornado drill has been rescheduled to take place on Friday March 7th at 9:30 AM.

For more information about Wednesday's severe weather potential, please review our weather briefings that are available at https://www.weather.gov/media/mhx/LatestBriefing.pdf

The drill will be broadcast on NOAA Weather Radio and the Emergency Alert System via the Required Monthly Test (RMT).  We strongly encourage everyone to participate. More information on the Statewide Tornado Drill is below.
